Your membership payments must be up to date to receive UNISON representation.

• If your membership lapsed within the last 13 weeks you can arrange to pay back any missed subscriptions to re-establish continued membership.  
• If your membership expired more than 13 weeks ago you will need re-join UNISON as a new member. Join at https://join.unison.org.uk/

UNISON cannot provide any types of legal services, including representation, to members who:-

• Joined less than 4 weeks ago, as recorded on our membership system.  Or an issue predates joining.

FORM 1    Work Related Matters Enquires Form

The 4-week rule applies to work related enquiries (see above notes).

Examples of work-related matters can include:-

an investigation, grievance, disciplinary, sickness absence review, reorganization, grievance, regrading, TUPE, redundancy, bullying, harassment, discrimination,  deductions of salary, accident at work, etc.

FORM 2   General UNISON Enquiries Form

The 4 – week rule applies to unison benefits, welfare and all types of legal services including those related to matters outside of employment (see above notes). You must be a fully paid-up member of UNISON. You can be a full member or student, retired member or unemployed.

Examples could be about your membership, subscriptions, finding your local steward, joining UNISON, getting more involved (officer, steward, H&S, Equality, Learning, Green, Pay Reps/contacts), attending a course, applying for a bursary, receiving Self-Organised Group mailings, attending a UNISON conference or event, organising a branch social event, attending a members meeting, etc.
